Dear my future self,

How have you been doing ? All good yeah? So, you are now a successful business woman, right? Living in a mansion with your pretty family and two Chihuahuas; am I wrong? If both things I said are wrong then I don’t know. Maybe you changed your mind? Maybe you wanted to be a scientist after all? Maybe you wanted to adopt two cats not two dogs?

Really, I don’t mind but did you do anything to help society? How much volunteer work have you done? Did you do anything both crazy and brilliant enough to help the disadvantaged? This time, if the answer is no, then you really need to rethink your life; right now!  Your 16-year-old self doesn’t want this. Never wanted this.

Sadly, I can’t see what’s going on in your world right now, but I hope that the people there have learned to love themselves and love each other so the world you’re in is better worth living in, than the world I’m in right now, because I’ve seen many heartless people that scare me sometimes.

These people don’t have to be a murderer to scare me. What terrifies me is their silence. Their equanimity when they see something unfair happening; it is what I call, heartless. The reason for it is that they don’t want to get involved in any trouble, which is kind of understandable. No one wants to be involved in trouble; but if you are the one who gets treated unfairly, and everyone knows, but no one says a word to protect you, how would you feel?

This life is too short. I want to see people helping each other, treating others fairly, and spreading love everywhere they go. Wow what a pink world would that be!

Some people think that this could never happen; a pink world? A place where every single person in it is willing to give love and help each other whenever they can; a place where you will surely want to take part and participate. To make this happen, you don’t have to change the world, mess with anyone’s mind or anything like that. My dearest future self, the truth is, you can’t just switch the world to pink mode. The world needs to switch itself, starting with every single person on the planet.

First things first, always think positive. Although sometimes it seems a hard thing to achieve, start being thankful and grateful for the little things you get each day; like food and friends. And please, take nothing for granted.

The second most essential thing is to be kind to everyone. Be a lover, not a hater, because hating someone, or having negative thoughts will increase the chance of you getting serious heart disease, and a shorter and sadder life for sure. Plus, judging a person doesn’t define who they are, it defines who you are so be careful when you judge someone.

I know that some people are difficult to love but you can’t just blow your top and bite their heads off, instead, learn to love them, promise you will like at least one thing about them if you truly know them. It’s really that simple, each person changes in themselves, to be a better person, BOOOM, the whole world transfers its color to pink.

To make the world more beautiful, I want you to do two things.  First, believe in yourself. Don’t give up on the person you want to become. Dream big. Don’t let others drain you with their words and comments because, trust me, you are a bigger person than that.

Secondly, I want you to operate a charity organization to help disadvantaged kids all over the world. To achieve this you MUST study hard, keep your nose to the grindstone, focus your aims, help as many people as you can.  However, remember to try to get a good job and feed yourself first, then try to help the orphans out there.

Sadly, it’s the end of my letter already. I hope you can achieve what you truly want, please try to love yourself more and more. If there is something bad that happens to you, remember you will overcome it just like you have done several times in the past.

“Healing takes time but it will come and when it does, you will find a happiness so bright that you will be blind to all who once tormented you”

So, don’t start treating people badly just because you are in some bad situations, because this too shall pass, and you will regret treating them badly later.

I truly wish all the best things in the world to you, my adorable future self.
